The letter E refers to the inventor of the light bulb, Thomas Edison. The 27 refers to the diameter of the screw thread - 27 millimeters. 

In October 1879, Edison succeeded for the first time in using electrical energy to make the tungsten wire inside the glass bulb glow. After Edison acquired a patent for his development, the light bulb, which initially only had a service life of 40 hours, was optimized.

Color rendering also matters. You can tell how faithfully your light source reproduces ambient colors by the CRI or Ra value. Finally, you should pay attention to the other features you expect from your new light source, such as dimmability or the possibility of integration into your smart network.
