Energy efficiency index (EEI)
The energy efficiency index (or energy consumption label) indicates how much electricity and other relevant energy a device consumes. Appliances are labeled, for example, by the EU energy label (electrical appliances) and the "environmental badge" for motor vehicles.
The rule is: the smaller the energy efficiency index, the more efficient the appliance.
This is intended to simplify purchasing decisions and help generate greater sales in Europe for energy-saving appliances.
The scale ranges from A+++ alphabetically to G, with A+++ denoting the most economical appliances and G denoting those that are not or less economical. In addition, the smaller the energy efficiency index, the more efficient the appliance.
