Nominal frequency
Nominal frequency is the frequency specified by the manufacturer or supplier for a device in normal operation. Frequency is the complete oscillation of a periodic (repeating) signal (e.g., radio waves) in a given period of time, usually one second. Frequencies are specified with the unit Hertz (Hz). In the case of light, it can be said that the higher the frequency of the light, the less flickering (= stroboscopic effect) you see.
